Value Creation Review
A grounded view of where your firm creates value, and what is getting in the way
The Value Creation Review is for firm leaders who want to move from a general sense that something needs to change to a more specific understanding of where, and what to do about it. We look across the commercial, operational, leadership and cultural dimensions that shape how the firm creates and develops value, giving a fuller picture of where the firm stands.
It is a focused engagement for Managing Partners and their leadership teams. We work with you directly throughout.
How we look at the firm
The review covers the four areas that together shape how a professional services firm creates and develops value. Depending on where the firm is and what the initial conversations surface, the work may span all four or focus on one or two.
Commercial performance
Revenue, pricing, profitability and pipeline
Client experience
How work is won and grown, and how clients experience the firm
Leadership and culture
What supports progress and what gets in the way
Supporting processes
The processes that support what is possible across the other areas
What's involved
We begin with an initial session with your leadership team to understand your priorities, what you are already seeing, and where the firm is under most pressure. From there, we gather focused evidence from inside the firm through a tailored mix of interviews, group discussion and structured review. We look at how the firm wins and grows the right work, how it prices and manages profitability, how client development happens across different levels, and the leadership and cultural factors that shape whether those things are likely to change.
We also look outward. Through structured conversations with clients and buyers, we find out how the firm is actually experienced, what they value that may not be recognised internally, and where the firm is not getting as much from existing relationships as it could. We look at the real reasons behind work won and lost, from the buyer's perspective, and often where the most significant gaps and opportunities tend to sit. We then bring the findings to a session with your leadership team, working through what the evidence is showing and agreeing where to focus.
Everything shared during the review is handled with professional discretion. We do not attribute individual responses without permission, and we share findings only with the firm's leadership. The work follows professional research standards throughout.
What you leave with
Not a static report. A structured account of what the review found, what your leadership team agreed on, and the reasoning behind where to focus. It is a working reference — a picture of the firm at this point in time — that informs the conversations, decisions and direction that follow. It can be revisited and built on as priorities develop.
